Myachslau Lysy, a deputy head of the official Union of Poles, had his visa annulled on the Belarusian–Polish border on April 6.
The website charter97.org learnt this from Mechyslau Lysy. He, as one of the leaders of the official Union of Poles, was detained by Polish border guards at Babrouniki crossing point. According to him, the consultations took about an hour, and then his visa was annulled.
“Polish border guards were polite and kind. They spent an hour talking with their chiefs and then said they had been instructed to annul my visa,” Lysy said.
According to the leader of the official UNP, he visited Poland two weeks ago and had no problems when crossing the border. According to Lysy, this wasn’t the only ban on entering Poland. Earlier, the same measures were taken in relations to other activists of pro-Lukashenka Union of Poles. Lysy said such actions of the Polish authorities were a real terror puts democracy of the Polish leadership in question.”
We remind that on February 16, 2010, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland announced a ban on entering Poland for the Belarusian officials, involved in violation of the rights of Belarusian Poles. The sanctions were imposed in relation to the repressions against the unrecognized Union of Poles in Belarus led by Andzelika Borys.
