Lukashenka gave a command to prepare another “All-Belarusian People’s Congress”

On May 11 the Belarusian ruler signed an instruction number 150 “On some questions of preparation for the 4th All-Belarusian People’s Congress”.
For preparation and holding the congress a Republican steering committee has been created. Its co-chairmen are Head of the Presidential Administration Uladzimir Makei and Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski.
Besides, an interdepartmental working group has been created to draw a draft Programme of the Social and Economic development of Belarus for years 2011-2015. Its co-chairmen are Deputy Head of Lukashenka’s administration Leanid Anfimau and Deputy Premiere Andrei Kabyakou.
By July 1, 2010 Lukashenka is to be given offers for the date of the All-Belarusian People’s Congress and the number of its members, as well as draft main provisions of the program for Belarus’ social and economic development in 2011-2015.
The All-Belarusian Congress is a window-dressing Soviet-style event where alleged “representatives of working collectives”, supporters of the regime, are gathered, in order to declare “popular support” for the all-people’s support for the policy of the current regime.
