Russian deputy prime minister Igor Sechin is convinced Belarus will fulfill its contract obligations on paying for Russian gas.
According to the pricing formula, provided for by the contract on Russian gas supplies to Belarus, gas costs $169 per 1,000 cubic meters, but Belarus pays only $150, Newsru.com informs.
“The price of $150 per 1,000 cubic meters has been set by themselves. Belarus must pay the contract price, which is now $169. The annual average price will be $180–186 per 1,000 cubic meters,” he said.
According to Sechin, Russia will hardly reduce gas supplies.
“I think they will pay. The contract cannot be observed only by one of the parties,” Sechin underlined.
