The militia guards a high-level guest, possible Kurmanberk Bakiyeeev, in Plauno residence in the Lepel district (the Vitsebsk region).

Plauno residence is situated on the territory of Berezinski Biosphere Reserve near the village of Valavaya Hara. The locals say the former president of Kyrgyzstan may live in Berezinski reserve.

“The rumors that Bakiyev stays in Lukashenka’s residence Plauno appeared last Friday,” entrepreneur Aleh Tychyna told in an interview to Radio Svaboda. “I talked to the locals yesterday, they say it is possible. There are the militia and officers of Lepel communication center there. I don’t know what they are doing there. An emergency ambulance is on duty there. I am not 100 percent sure, but such rumors have appeared. People from Lepel say Bakiyev stays in the residence Plauno, in Berezinski reserve. This is what I’ve heard.”

According to Aleh Tychyna, the number of militiamen in Lepel has recently decreased. People say the militia is sent to Plauno residence, where Bakiyev lives.

An officer on duty of the Lepel district militia department didn’t say whether Kurmanbek Bakiyev stays in Plauno, but told a phone number of the checkpoint at the request of the journalist.

- You know, I cannot help you, – the officer on duty told the journalist. – Try to call to the checkpoint, the village of Domzhytsy. Maybe they can help.

- People say the territory is guarded.

- Surely.

- Can you tell how long he has been there?

-We don’t have this information.

- But is he there? Can I try?

- You can try, but we don’t know if he is there or not.

Officers of the checkpoint also told they don’t know about Bakiyev’s location.

Pavel Lyohki, the head of Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s press service, said he doesn’t know where Kurmanbek Bakiyev is.

According to information from Bishkek, local activists of Our Right NGO are seeking to initiate a criminal case against Bakiyev over polygamy. “As the recent events showed, former head of state Kurmanbek Bakiyev has several wives. His behavior made irreparable harm to gender equality and protection of family values,” the NGO head Kalicha Umuralieva said.

We remind, that presenting an annual address to the “national assembly” on Aril 20, Lukashenka told about Bakiyev’s wife and two small children, “a boy and a girl”. It is known that Bakiyev has two grown-up sons Marat and Maksim, occupying high posts in Kyrgyzstan. According to Kyrgyz sources, Bakiyev had three families.

As representatives of the interim government of Kyrgyzstan say, criminal cases have been opened against Bakiyev. The former president has been charged in absentia of organizing killings and abuse of power.
