Alyaksandr Lukashenka stated that the Customs Union with Russia and Kazakhstan should be based upon on egalitarian basis, noting a possibility of resolving sensitive issues.

"Belarus has always been an adherent of integration processes, it is our image, we have always been in favour of intergation, even when people feared to talk abou it. That is why we would not like to retract from this image of our state. We will continue to adhere to this policy, stategy and tactics in the future," stated Alyaksandr Lukashenka meeting with Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov in Minsk, Interfax informs.

"The only thing, we would like everything to be decent, and any our relations to be based upon equality and respect," the Belarusian leader said.

As said by him, "if we would see that, we would agree to any compromises, any concessions, even if they would be difficult and heavy for us for some period". "But if we would see oppression of our interests and disrespect to us as a state and to our nation, we are sure not to agree to that," Lukashenka stressed. He noted that "we would proceed from the fact that our country is rather technoligically developed, situated in the centre of Europe, so it cannot perish." "We do not want to use some advantages of our state in prejudice of Russians. We do not have great claims against the Russian side as far as our interests are concerned, and to Kazakhstan as well," Lukashenka stated.

"Today I am ready to discuss any problems which have emerged. Moreover, I know that the things you would say today are in fact a position which would be realized in Russia tomorrow. And I can adopt decisions today that also would be realized in Belarus as of tomorrow," Lukashenka stated. In this connection he noted that "here we can also agree on two-three questions which are sensitivce for us, Russia and Kazakhstan".
