Halavanau dismissed for a drill hole?

Uladzimir Karpuk, the director of geology department at the Ministry of Environment, drilled a hole for free for the minister and was fired together with him.

Dismissals of minister of justice Viktar Halavanau and director of director of geology department at the Ministry of Environment Uladzimir Karpuk are interconnected. The official explanation for Karpuk’s resignation was “an act incompatible with occupying a government’s employee”.

As BelaPAN news agency reports, facts of violation of law when performing exploration works on private orders were revealed. In other words, he ordered to drill a hole in one of the private sites and the working cost was understated significantly.

The site where the works were performed belongs to Viktar Halavanau, the recently fired minister of justice, “Nasha Niva” newspaper runs.

As a result of investigation, both officials were dismissed.
