Zmitser Bandarenka transferred to prisoners’ unit though his spine problems persist

Since November 11 the political prisoner was returned from the medical unit to the prisoners’ unit of Mahilyou colony #15.

On November 20 Zmitser Bandarenka was allowed to call his wife. During their short conversation the political prisoner had just enough time to say that despite back pain he had been returned to the prisoners’ unit.

“Zmitser called yesterday, right 11 months after the day of his arrest. Instead of the usual 15 minutes, after a few minutes of conversation guards started to shout at him that he should stop talking,” Volha Bandarenka told charter97.org website.

“Back on November 11 he was transferred to the prisoners’ unit, though he had been promised to stay in the medical units for two weeks, and this term did not expire. He has an autumn exacerbation, back pains. Earlier in the prisoners’ unit he was offered easing of some requirements, he was allowed to make some exercises in lying position. And no it does not happen, he has to stand during the check for an hour and a half like anybody else,” Zmitser’s wife said quoting him.

“Last week a special commission of four officers gathered. They decided he had not mended his ways,” Volha Bandarenka said. We remind that the issue of commutation of sentence as one third of the term of the imprisonment had expired, was considered by a special commission on early release and regime change in September, but he was denied commutation of sentence.

As said by the wife of the politician, only letters from his father and herself are received by him, and Zmitser writes letters to her every day, however only every fifth letter is received by her.
