Poczobut taken from detention facility in unknown direction

A police car left the territory of a detention facility in Akrestsin Street in Minsk at half past six in the evening.

Journalists waiting outside managed to see that one of the passengers was Andrzej Poczobut (Andrei Pachobut), who was expected to be released at 5:40 pm. Journalist Ihar Bancar, who was standing at the nearest bus stop, also recognized his colleague. The car with the journalist drove in an unknown direction, “Nasha Niva” newspaper reports.

As journalists were told in the jail’s control room that Andrzej Poczobut had been released. Police officer declined to inform about is location. Poczobut’s colleagues continue to wait him at the jail gates.

We remind that journalist from Hrodna Andrzej Poczobut stood a trial on February 11 for taking part in the rally on December 19. He was performing his professional duties and covering the events for a Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza.
