Hundreds of leaflets with a call to celebrate Freedom Day on Yakub Kolas square have been distributed by activists of “European Belarus”.

In the leaflets the democratic activists invite to the rally in the centre of the city, and also demand release of political prisoners and holding a new election without Lukashenka.

“It is clear that after the events of December 19 the authorities will fear to authorize an oppositional rally in the centre of the city. But it is important for us to demonstrate that we are strong and we continue our struggle. And it is especially important for our friends, for our leaders who are behinds the bars now. That is why “European Belarus” invites its supporters to Yakub Kolas Square on March 25 in order to celebrate the most important holiday of Belarusians and to demand release of political prisoners. It is our legal right, and the dictator is unable to prohibit that to us!” an activist Andrei Bazhyn told in an interview to “European Belarus” press-service.

We remind that the rally is to take place on March 25 at 6 p.m. on Yakub Kolas Square.
