On March 24 the trial over “For Freedom” movement activist Mikita Likhavid is to continue. We remind that 29 policemen are involved in the case as “injured persons”.
Mikita Likhavid was detained on December 19 on Independence Square and first sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest. On December 23 the decree on his arrest was annulled, but the activist was charged with “mass riots”.
The day before Alena Likhavid told Belsat that Mikita’s father (who have been living separately for 17 years already) tried to help his son. On February 14 she received an SMS from her husband: we need to talk.
“We met and he whispered to my ear, very carefully, looking round: “Lena, we need to save the guy.” “How are you going to do that?” “I have met with one man, he is very competent and knows everything. He told me: he must say he was paid to come to the rally or was promised to be given a bottle of alcohol.” In such a case Mikita’s father was promised that in a month or two his son would be back at home, otherwise he would get a term and would be sent “to fell timber”.
Alena Likhavid answered, that it is better “to fell timber” than to tell stories against oneself and others.
