The state sells its share in MKK

This month Joint Stock Company “Belaruskali” is to finish selling the package of its International Kali Co. (MKK) shares.

BelTA has been informed about that by the Belarusian joint stock company.

The company representatives have noted that at the moment the terms of the deal with the buyer, which is to be named after signing of the contract.

As it was informed earlier, Belaruskali had put up for sale a parcel of 340,000 shares of MKK at a negotiable price. Among the potential buyers with which talks were held, there were foreign companies.

The decision to sell a parcel of MKK shares had been adopted by the owner of the Belarusian joint stock company, which is the state. The Republic of Belarus owns 100% of Belaruskali shares.

The Belarusian joint stock company is an owner of 33% of MMK shares since 1992, the time of MKK foundation. Its founders were Belaruskali, Uralkali and Silvinit on a parity basis. At the moment only the Belarusian company remains an owner of a parcel of shares. Uralkali and Silvinit have withdrawn membership at the MKK.

Since 2005 the JSC Belarusian Potash Company is an exclusive exporter of Belaruskali products. The JSC Belarusian Potash Company’s shareholders are Belaruskali (45%), Uralkali (50%) and the Belarusian Railway (5%).
