As Lukashenka said on the air at ONT TV channel on April 13, “It took the security services only 24 hours to detain terrorists without shooting and noise.”
“We planned to gather in this composition and discuss the course of the investigation. I asked to give me results. The case was solved at 5 in the morning. It took the security services only 24 hours to detain the terrorists at 9:00 pm April 12 without shooting and noise. We know who did it and how. But we do not know the purpose. I thank the special services and police. Analysts, investigators and experts have examined a large amount of audio and video materials. What is especially pleasant, they detected the criminals without leaving their offices,” the ruler said.
Lukashenka ordered the law-enforcement bodies not to relax. “Mopping up must be carried out in all directions! You see how cruel the world around us is becoming. We mustn’t allow this in Belarus. All ordinary people must learn lessons from this. These beasts worked as a lathe operator and electrician, talked to their numerous colleagues. I cannot believe that nobody suspected them. Such people always have abnormalities,” the ruler said.
“Special thanks to officers of Emergency Ministry and medical officers. We have received thousands of signals. I am sure that we will solve thousands more crimes on the ground of these materials,” Lukashenka noted.
“As investigators reported to me, the detained confessed committing the metro terrorist attack, as well as the terrorist acts on Independence Day and in Vitsebsk,” Lukashenka said.
He also demanded to question all opposition politicians in connection with the metro terrorist attack.
“I ordered to examine all statements by politicians. We are looking for accomplices and those who ordered it. These representatives of the so called fifth column can probably show their hands and point at the client. Everyone must be questioned in spite of any democracy, whines and moans of foreign supporters,” Lukashenka instructed.
According to him, “This is blasphemy: we have a tragedy, but these so called ‘European partners’ in Strasbourg are talking about human rights. And our fifth column urges to impose sanctions. Dancing on bones,” the dictator said, adding, “They could at least wait till mourning ends.”
As Lukashenka emphasized, this “does not affect the whole opposition”. “Opposition can and must exist in the country, but we will not have the fifth column,” he underlined.
Lukashenka said, “Who are accomplices and possible clients? It is very important for us.”
The dictator called on the law-enforcement agencies not to relax. “The police stays on high alert not because we expect something, but because the mechanism has been engaged, activities to investigate the crimes is under way and it should be completed,” Lukashenka noted.
