Halina Yuryna: “Verdict against Bandarenka is absurd”

Halina Yuryna, an election agent residential candidate Andrei Sannikov, says a two-year sentence to Zmitser Bandarenka was absurd.

“It is absurd that people get prison terms for the events on the Square. All of us came there not for riot. We came to celebrate our victory. We knew exactly that our candidate proceeded to the second round of elections. We were sure that the authorities rigged the election results.

Coming to a square to celebrate a victory or at least to hear real results of the elections is practiced in any civilized country. Disorders and moreover planning disorders were not even discussed,” Yuryna said in an interview to Radio Svaboda.
