Darya Korsak: after Mihalevich’s public statements tortures in KGB Detention Center stopped

The wife of political prisoner Alyaksandr Atroshchankau learnt it from her husband during an open day in state penitentiary “Vitba-3”.

According to Darya’s words, she was able to speak with her husband during inmates’ amateurs’ night, Belsat reports. “Sasha confirmed everything Mihalevich said. Moreover, after Mihalevich’s open statements tortures stopped. Probably, KGB feared bad publicity.”- Darya thinks.

Alyaksandr Atroshchankau said that among the means of psychological pressure were electro shockers: they were clicked inches away from detainees’ ears to scare them and induce to necessary testimonies.

Earlier Darya Korsak submitted a petition to The General Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the torture facts. And as she found out from Alexander, an investigator from Prosecutor’s office visited the penitentiary: “When Sasha started telling him about what was going on in KGB, the investigator tore the report and started threatening. Then my husband stated that he would only speak in the presence of a lawyer.”

Darya says she’s recently received a letter from the General Prosecutor’s Office. The letter says that Alyaksandr Atroshchankau rejected giving any evidence concerning the facts she brought up. But Darya is going to file a new complaint to the Prosecutor’s Office about the activities of their officer and to demand another investigation taking new circumstances into account.

Let’s remind that Alexander, a press agent of presidential candidate Andrey Sannikau, was sentenced to 4 years in a high security penitentiary for “mass riots participation”.
