Is it forbidden to gather by three?

“European Belarus” activists Viktar Kalesnik, Yauhen Parchynski and Illya Bahdanau met near a newspaper kiosk in Mavapolatsk in Maladzyozhnaya Street and were detained.

In a few minutes a police patrol came up to them, and they all where taken to the police department, Radio Svaboda informs.

The detention happened at about 7 p.m. As said by Viktar Kalesnik, it was in the afternoon when many leaflets with portraits of political prisoners appeared in Navapolatsk.

In the city police department activists were asked to give written explanations about what they had been doing for the previous few hours. Illya Bahdanau and Yauheny Parchynski were released in three hours. Viktar Kalesnikau was detained by the police for about 4 hours.

As informed by Yauhen Parchynski, no reports or any other documents concerning the activists’ violation had been drawn up.
