Are “European Belarus” activists suspected of House of Justice’s arson?

Today at 7 a.m. an activist of “European Belarus” Alyaksandr Kudlaeu and his son were detained.

The arrest was made by the Department for Combating Organised Crime. During the arrest the policemen searched their flat, they were looking for chemicals. Computers and data carriers were seized. At the moment the activists are kept in the police department of Maskouski district of Minsk. Alyaksandr managed to inform that their detention is connected with an arson of the House of Justice in Minsk yesterday.

Yesterday evening an activist of the campaign Vlad Byarozau was detained, his flat was searched as well.

The website of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate has posted information that a criminal case was initiated relating the fact of hooliganism near the House of Justice.

“Today the authorities want to show us that they would not stop at delivering verdicts to the leaders and opposition activists. Searches and detentions demonstrate once again that they are panic-stricken. The fear people of different ages and of different social status, who had united in one effort, to achieve changes,” the search and detentions have been commented by the coordinator of the human rights service of “European Belarus” Veranika Lazouskaya.
