Andrei Sannikov transferred to remand prison in Valadarski Street

Andrei Sannikov, a presidential candidate, sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment in a colony with a reinforced regime, is in the remand prison of the Interior Affairs Ministry of Valadarski Street in Minsk.

BelaPAN has been informed about that by the mother of Sannikov’s wife Iryna Khalip, Lyutsyna Belzatskaya.

As said by her, on May 19 in the morning Iryna Khalip tried to get permission to visit her husband, who had been kept in the KGB remand prison previously. “She came to the KGB and was told that Sannikov was transferred to the remand prison in Valadarski Street. She went to Valadarski Street, but failed to be on time to be granted a meeting,” Belzatskaya said.

Besides, as noted by her, the permission for a meeting issued by the court of Partyzanski district of Minsk, is valid for 3 days only. “That is why Iryna went to the court now to receive a new permission for a meeting,” Belzatskaya stressed.

As said by her, Iryna Khalip has not filed a cassation appeal against her verdict, and is collecting documents for taking an appeal.
