Witness in court: KGB threatened to rape me

May 20 was the third day of hearing the case against activists of anarchist, social, anti-fascist and anti-nuclear movement.

Ihar Alinevich, Maksim Vetkin, Mikalai Dzyadok, Yauheny Silivonchyk and Alyaksandr Frantskevich are charged with making a series of attacks on governmental buildings and other crimes. They may face up to 12 years in prison. Some tens of people were detained in this criminal case, Belsat TV channel reports.

On May 19, four witnesses said at the trial that KGB officers had forced them to give evidence against the defendants. According to Alyaksei Zhynhareuski, he received threats with imprisonment and problems with receiving education. He agreed give false evidence against Mikalai Dzyadok and Alyaksandr Frantskevich.

Pressed by the KGB, Ksenia Kauko admitted that Mikalai Dzyadok had given her an aerosol paint can, though she did not even know him at that moment.

Former suspect Ihar Bahachyk said officers of the KGB and Main Organizzed Crime Department made him give evidence against Mikalai Dzyadok threatening him with sexual harassment. They also summoned his parents and threatened to fire them from work.

Alyaksandr Buhayou was forced to give evidence against Ihar Alinevich.

Initially, Alinevich was charged with an attack on the Embassy of Russia in August 2010 and organizing an action near the General Staff of the Armed Forces in 2009. As it recently turned out, he is also accused of taking part in other attacks: on Shangri La casino in December 2009, office of Moskva-Minsk Bank in May 2010, a detention centre in Minsk in September 2010.

Makism Vetkin is accused of attacking the Embassy of Russia and Belarusbank office in MInsk in 2010.

Yauheny Silivonchyk is charged with attacking a police station in Salihorsk.

Alyaksandr Frantskevich was initially accused of recording the attack on a police station on video. Later, he was charged with taking part in the attack and an action in front of the General Staff, an attack on the Federation of Trade Unions and cracking the website of the Navapolatsk city executive committee.
