Are Sannikov and Bandarenka to be transferred to Zhodzina prison?

Andrei Sannikov’s mother visited him in the remand prison in Valadarski Street.

On May 24 Alla Sannikova had a chance to talk to her son in the remand prison in Valadarski Street for one hour only. Andrei Sannikov, a presidential candidate, is kept there after the court.

“He keeps his chin up, he told that it is better for him there, the cell is better, and there are no such problems as in the KGB jail. He was to be transferred to Zhodzina detention facility, but he is still kept here. I would like to repeat: he is cheerful, he has not lost his faith,” Alla Sannikova said to Radio Svaboda.

Andrei Sannikov was found guilty of organizing mass riots, and senteneced to 5 years of imprisonment. On May 24 it became known that judge Natallya Chatvyartkova, who had delivered the judgment to Sannikov (Sannikau), was put on the black list of persons banned from entering the European Union.

A member of Sannikov’s campaign headquarters Zmitser Bandarenka needs an operation urgently. This conclusion was made by a neurologist who had examined Zmitser Bandarenka in prison. Volha, the wife of the political prisoner, has learnt that from the letter of her husband:

“A consultation has taken place, he needs an operation. Now he has aggravation as he had caught cold,” Volha Bandarenka said.

As said by experts, in case an urgent operation is not made to Bandarenka, he can become chairbound. According to information received by Volha Bandarenka, like other convicts in the case of December 19 events, her husbands is to be transferred to the temporary detention facility in Zhodzina.
