The Belarusian dictator has stated that he would not allow the West to indispose himself towards Russia, to the detriment of the relations with Russia.
Russia had never had a stand on the human rights situation in Belarus analogous to the position of the European Union, and just called upon fulfilling Belarus’ international obligations, and not spoke about sanctions, stated the head of the Foreign Ministry of Russia Sergei Lavrov, Interfax informs.
“We had not urged Belarus to something which would be different from our aims. What is meant here is fulfillment of international obligations in respect to human rights and basic freedoms. Attempts to say that we have associated ourselves with the European Union, do not exactly reflect reality. And we have not imposed any sanctions, and have not threatened new sanctions, as the EU is doing,” stated Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov summing up the results of his visit to Minsk.
“However, as before we continue to be hostile to the fact that all the presidential candidates have been sentenced to various prison terms,” S. Lavrov stressed.
A. Lukashenka (Lukashenko) would not allow the West to indispose himself towards Russia, to the detriment of the relations with Russia, the head of the Foreign Ministry of Russia stated.
“Today Alyaksandr Lukashenka stated that the attempts of the West to turn him against Russia, to the detriment of the relations with Russia, are doomed to failure. He would not ever do something which would conflict with our brotherly union,” S. Lavrov said.
