Lukashenka: Crisis of authority will be the end

Judging by the today’s press-conference, it goes hard with the Belarusian dictator.

Speaking about the state of the Belarusian economy at the press-conference in Minsk, Alyaksandr Lukashenka (Alexander Lukashenko) stated literally the following: “If there is a complete catastrophe we will close the borders and will only import what we need,” Interfax reports.

Lukashenka has noted that “we have enough to buy food and clothes now.” “But Heaven forbid us to close borders, as we are doing that for certain groups of goods in the western and southern directions,” he added.

This is entirely Internet and journalists’ fault

Lukashenka has also reproached journalists for whipping up panic in the country and inciting consumers’ boom.

“There is a great proportion of journalists’ work in this process of creating panic in our country. The boom in the consumer’s market had been created with active participation of a number of mass media, for a number of reasons,” the dictator said.

Speaking about the situation in the currency market, the head of the state specified that if it were not for articles in mass media, “we would still be living a quiet life today”.

Lukashenka was most critical about publications on the web, calling the internet “a dump”.

“All are gnashing their teeth – waiting us to collapse soon”

Lukashenka attracted attention to the fact that foreign mass media are writing about Belarus a lot now.

“Many foreign newspapers are writing about us, writing excitedly, and there is joy between the lines, that the Belarusian economic miracle has collapsed. But it has not collapsed anywhere,” the dictator said.

He noted that “today they are standing along the perimeter and gnashing their teeth: waiting us to collapse as soon as possible.|”

“US on verge of default”

The US dollar is facing a serious inflation, which is to start in half a year, Lukashenka believes.

“The US will print flat money, they will cause inflation all over the world. We shall coe through that in about half a year,” he stated.

As said by him, now the US is on the verge of default. “Their national debt is $14.2 trillion. Now the Congress is to adopt a decision to increase the national debt by $500 billion. They are sure to adopt that, the Congress won’t announce default in their own country before the election. And they are sure to print currency! Who is to pay for that? You and I, the whole world,” A. Lukashenka believes.

Lukashenka fears assault

“I have asked the head of the Interior Affairs Ministry, what kind of rally it was, when the avenue was blocked for a few hours (Stop Petrol protest on June 8 held against fuel prices hike)? One more protest like this, and you will be dismissed,” the dictator said.

“If you are blocking the avenue in the centre of the capital and interfering with other people – the reaction should be harsh. Such things will be clamped down on instantly,” A. Lukashenka said.

He expressed special denunciation of those who urges young people to gather on the square to become a hero. “This slogan is designed for those who are dim-witted, who are ignorant. They are assembled in the same way as in Egypt, and when there would be dozens thousands of them, leaders would emerge, saddle them up and lead them up for an assault,” Lukashenka said.

Dictator does not need Europe

Lukashenka is against Belarus’ becoming a part of Russia or the European Union. “You do not want to become a part of Russia or the European Union on the same footing as the Baltic states, don’t you? And that’s right. I do not want such things either. But such a policy and such independence have a high price. Are you ready to pay it? Or not? If not – go your own way. You can merge in another state, in the European Union – but without me,” he stated.

Dictator plans to trade in political prisoners again

Lukashenka is ready to consider release the persons convicted in “December 19” case if there would be an appeal to him.

“If there is an appeal, I would consider it,” A. Lukashenka said. “We would not keep them in prisons. It is too high privilege for them to bring shame on these prisons, decent people are kept there,” A. Lukashenka said. The president observed that he does not want to discuss this topic, as “people would say I support convicts”.

A. Lukashenka noted that “just 3 persons [are political prisoners in “December 19 case] Sannikov, Uss and Statkevich are convicted,” (in reality 41 persons are convicted in this case – a note by charter97.org). “They are saying to me: release them. You think I’m dictator, so why are you pushing me to break the law? I have the right to pardon under the Constitution. It is not excluded. To this end, they must still apply to me. When they ask, then we'll consider the case,” he said.

As said by him, “we do not need them, in this prison.” “They are not needed in the country. One of these public figures (Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu) was among those protesting at the square. Ask him where he was on December 19? Why were you in hospital hiding under a blanket that one couldn’t even drive you out? And now he is reading his poems and posing as a hero,” Lukashenka continued.

“Do not think Lukashenka is keeping them [in prisons] as they are competitors to him. No one is questioning legitimacy of the latest election campaign.”

We remind that no one in the civilised world recognizes usurper Lukashenka as a president.
