Lukashenka said the presidential candidates and their associates “have the punishment they deserve”.
“In spite of huge pressure from outside, the judges conducted trials over organizers of mass riot and pogrom-makers of the House of Government competently, in full accordance with the law. The guilty persons have the punishment they deserve,” the Belarusian dictator said on Friday opening a session to discuss the improvement of the operation of general jurisdiction courts.
“This shows high professional level of Belarusian judges and the decisiveness in fighting dangerous negative phenomena,” Lukashenka thinks.
According to him, the state saw many important events in the last three years: “Being a branch of government, courts did not stay on the sidelines of the processes in our society.”
We remind that over 30 people, including presidential candidates Andrei Sannikov, Mikalai Statkevich and Dzmitry Uss, were given from 3 to 6 years in prison.
