Sannikov and Dashkevich have been swapped around?

Andrei Sannikov is possibly in the remand prison in Mahilyou now.

Iryna Khalip, the wife of the presidential candidate, has been informed about that by the Department for the Execution of Sentences of the Interior Affairs Ministry of Belarus.

The lawyer of the politician has not received an official confirmation from the remand prison of Maholyou yet.

As Iryna Khalip has told charter97.org, all this time Andrei Sannikov was held in Vitsebsk central prison, though police senior officials assured that the political prisoner had already been transferred to Mahilyou (on September 20 Sannikov was not present in Navapolatsk penal colony already).

The former political prisoner Alyaksandr Atroshchankau views the incarceration conditions at such institutions as torture: a prisoner gets into awfully overcrowded cells, with unsanitary conditions and tuberculosis.

“I was told terrible things about Vitsebsk central prison. Even ordinary prisoners there are brutally beat for any minor breach of rules, or to force an acknowledgement of guilt. The armoury and sophistication of means of influence and humiliating treatment can impress the sickest imagination,” Atroshchankau said.

“I cannot believe their words that he is really in Mahilyou. All that looks as blackmailing and deliberate cynicism,” the wife of the political prisoner said.

At the same time, according to unconfirmed reports, “Young Front” leader Zmitser Dashkevich has been transferred from Mahilyou to Vitsebsk.
