Sportloto lottery distributors go on strike

Management of National Sporting Lotteries company refused to pay cold weather payments to lottery ticket sellers in Brest.

Ticket sellers said in protest they would not work on January 31, Praca-by.info website learned from the trade union of radioelectronics workers.

As Volha, a distributor and trade union member, says Sportloto ticket sellers get 10 percent of revenue from sold tickets and 20 percent for working in cold weather during three winter months.

“They promised to pay cold weather payments for three months – December, January and February,” Volha says. “But the supervisor told yesterday we would not get money from the most profitable New Year’s edition. They said they would count only the 360th edition, which we are selling in the second half of January and February. So we decided not to work tomorrow. We work when it rains or snows. We depend on sales percentage, we do not have stable salaries. We hoped to get some extra money for selling the New Year’s edition, because it did well.”
