Such a certificate has been issued for the human rights activist on March 13 in the Migration and citizenship department of Frunzenski district of Minsk.
Aleh Hulak is banned from leaving Belarus on the request of the Justice Ministry in connection with a civil suit.
The travel ban is substantiated by the fact that on March 5 the Justice Ministry allegedly applied for banning travel for him, as a civil suit had been filed against Aleh Hulak.
“I have not heard about any civil suits. Moreover, I have just returned from the Justice Ministry, and there are no such materials on his database. Under the law the procedure looks in the following way: court issues a travel ban as a civil suit exists. This information is passed through the Justice Ministry to the Migration and Citizenship department. But there is no information about any civil suits in the Justice Ministry,” Aleh Hulak said to “Belarusian Partisan”.
