Andrei Bandarenka sues Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Defence

On March 20, Andrei Bandarenka received an official reply from the military enlistment office of the town of Kirau. The reply reads he is not subject to the draft.

It can be figured out from the received replies that none of the state bodies cannot give a clear reason for imposing a travel ban on absolutely illegal ground, the website of Platform organization writes.

Moreover, none of the state bodies cannot give information who, when and on what ground banned Bandarenka to leave Belarus.

The director of Platfrom organization applied to the Tsentralny district court of Minsk demanding to declare illegitimate and cancel the decisions of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to temporarily ban Bandarenka from leaving Belarus (since March 5, 2012) and oblige the ministries to provide the materials giving a ground on imposing the temporal travel ban on Bandarenka.

The situation looks absurd: the 21st century, the country in the centre of Europe, Lukashenka is shouting about democracy in Belarus, but a citizen of the Republic of Belarus is banned from leaving the country on the grounds that contradict the Constitution, Criminal Code and the Law of the Republic of Belarus On Military Service.
