Sannikov not allowed talking about himself

A lawyer had a meeting with former presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov.

Politician’s wife Iryna Khalip said to BelaPAN the lawyer and Sannikov had discussed “only legal issues”. “Andrei cannot say anything about confinement conditions or his health, because talks with lawyers are strictly moderated by prison guards. I know nothing about him,” Khalip said.

She noted she had received a letter from Sannikov. “The letter is short, but it is longer than the previous one. Sannikov asks to congratulate women on March 8 [Women’s Day in Belarus] and writes he understood again in prison Belarusian women are the prettiest and the most faithful. And the best ones,” Khalip said.

We remind that political prisoner was reported to have been tortured in the KGB jail and then in penal colonies. Sannikov was transferred from one prison to another 7 times during the year. He was held in a solitary cell in full isolation for three months.
