Unknown people tried to penetrate into ecologist Valodzin's flat

Unknown people tried to penetrated into the flat of ecologist and historian Uladzimir Valodzin in Minsk on late night of April 25.

According to Valodzin, there were his friends in the flat – a Belarusian citizen and two citizens of Russia. “When unknown began to knock on the door imitating an attempt to break it, they scared and and called police. Policemen from the nearest police station arrived and decided to check their passports,” Valodzin said. “They seized the passports of two Russians allegedly for violation of the passport regime. The Russians were not detained. They will go to a police station today to take their documents back and prove they did not violate anything.”

Valodzin added he was not at home when the incident happened, BelaPAN reports.

Different people in uniform and plain clothes usually visit me ahead of rallies. On other people's experience I know they come to detain people before the actions, so I try to be out these days,” he noted.

Valodzin links the visit by law enforcement officers with the Chernobyl Way 2012 rally, which is held today.
