Belsat journalists detained in Vitebsk

Police detained Volha Starostina and Dzyanis Mikhailau as they were shooting a reportage.

The Belsat TV journalists were interviewing city dwellers asking if they know their members of parliament. Dzyanis Mikhailau managed to tell Radio Svaboda they had been detained near Victory Square in the city centre.

The journalists are now in the Chyhunachny district police department in Vitebsk. They are giving written explanations. Their further fate is unknown.

Independent journalists Yulia Darashkevich and Iryna Kozlik were detained in Minks yesterday. They are standing trial now.
