Journalists prohibited to film Chief Skier

Journalists prohibited to film Chief Skier

A BelaPAN’s cameraman was forbidden to film Lukashenka and officials at Minsk ski race.

It took place today at the ski track in the capital’s district Viasnianka.

In the program of the event there was a relay race 4X2 km among the teams of ministries and departments, in which the Belarusian dictator took part as well. As it could be expected, Lukashenka’s team won the race.

Not everyone was allowed to film and take photos of the competition. Thus, a cameraman of the BelaPAN news agency was not allowed to approach the place of the start of the race by sportsmen in mufti.

It turned out that the races were not allowed to be filmed for the reason that the nationwide festivity of health was attended by the country’s chief skier. The staff members of an unidentified special service warned politely but firmly: if you point your camera at Lukashenka  - we promise you will have troubles.

The cameraman had to film the fun activities of the people like climbing a pole for a gift and tug-of-wars, freezing members of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union with flags and chebureks eating by the city residents who came to see the race.
