Lida police looking for Andrei Bandarenka

A human rights activist has found himself under close surveillance of police after he made statements about torture in a police department in Lida.

Policemen from Lida sent a request to the town of Kirausk (the Mahilou region), where Andrei Bandarenka is officially registered. According to the request, a criminal case over alleged libel against Lida police may be opened. Kirausk police invited the human rights activist to talk and figure out the details. Bandarenka refused to visit the police department without an official summons,” Belsat TV reports.

Police from Lida are interested in the human rights activist in connection with the incident with the Shkurko brothers. Andrei Bandarenka said how policemen from Lida morally and physically tortured the detained men, who may now face criminal and administrative responsibility for resistance to police.
