The mother of a political prisoner explains a closed trial against her son by lack of evidence in the crime.
She spoke to charter97.org about the KGB chief's statement, who said that Andrei Haidukou would have a closed trial.
“Andrei has nothing to hide. The decision to try him behind closed doors belongs to those who want to hide something. Of course, it should be a public trial, because we have no information about the case. There are many unclear things in the case,” Volha Haidukova said.
She thinks Valery Vakulchyk commented on the “spy” case because of a large number of articles on the internet and in newspapers, while the official side remained silent for a long time. Security services had to say something.
“I am 100% sure that it was not and could not have been a crime. I'd like to emphasise that I am not a politician. I am the mother. Mother's intuition tells me that there was not a crime and there was not a person whom Andrei allegedly gave something,” Volha Haidukova said.
The woman thinks it was clear at very beginning that they want to scare society.
“Their main aim is to scare young promising and clever people. If one wants to contribute to development of the country and make it better, he gets a punch in the nose at best, or may end like Andrei at worse. My son did something. He wasn't just talking. Perhaps they didn't like it. I have no doubts it is a frame-up and a provocation. Security services have power to frame anyone,” the mother of the political prisoner says.
