Priest Dmitry from the Slutsk parish will visit Eduard Lobau in correctional colony No. 22 in Ivatsevichy.
Charter97.org learnt it from the prisoner's mother Maryna Lobava.
“Eduard called me yesterday and on December 6. He made two phone calls past month. It's a good beginning of the year. He is okay, doesn't have health problems, continues to study,” she said.
The mother of the political prisoner added that priest Dmitry, who usually visits Eduard in the colony, called her on New Year's Eve and on Christmas Day.
“He said he would visit my son again. I asked Eduard how he had celebrated New Year and he said it was as usual – in prison. I am happy that he received my parcel on New Year's Day. I sent him tea, coffee and two sausages, so I think he had something for dinner,” Maryna Lobava said.
Eduard Lobau and Young Front head Zmitser Dashkevich were detained in Minsk on December 18, 2010. Their arrest was a preventive operation organised by security bodies and police ahead of the presidential “elections”, which were held next day.
On March 24, 2011, Minsk's Maskouski district court sentenced Eduard Lobau to 4 years in a maximum security correctional facility under part 3 of article 339 of the Criminal Code (malicious hooliganism).
