Autukhovich received medical parcel from mother with month delay

The political prisoner received the parcel with medicines.

It was sent by his mother Lidzija Autukhovich back in December last year, but for unknown reasons prison officials for a long time did not allow to pass the parcel to Mikalaj, Radio Svaboda reports.

The information came from a civic activist Inesa Jakhlijel, who is in regular correspondence with Mikalaj Autukhovich.

“They also gave him letters and postcards with New Year’s wishes. Although, only on 3-4 January. They also gave blank postcards with the envelopes that mother sent so he could respond to people. He was very worried that he would not be able not respond. From his most recent letter I get it that he is okay”, - she said.

The political prisoner is to be released in early April. “He is counting the days before he walks free, there are a little over 60 left”, - Inesa Jakhlijel says.

Mikalaj Autukhovich was sentenced to 5 years in prison in accordance with part 3 of the article 295 “Unlawful actions with firearms, ammunition and explosives”. The political prisoner was additionally sentenced to 2 more months of conviction for allegedly committing a new crime before serving 2 months of previous prison term. Thus, he was sentenced to 5 years and 2 months in high security prison.
