Jailed political prisoner Dzyadok gives medical treatment to himself

In prison Mikalai Dzyadok reads a lot and takes exercises in order to be in a better shape.

It was told by the wife of the political prisoner, Valeriya Khotsina, Radio Svaboda informs.

“I have sent a few parcels to him,” she said. “There were a book parcel as well, but he received only two books. One is a big one, in English, it had been passed by his friend, and a Christian dictionary. However, I do not know whether he would be able to read them over the 4 months left before his release. He also asked a parcel with medicines to be sent to him, as he has some stomach problems, besides, he is doing sports actively, and he often has strains. He asks all kinds of ointment in order to restore back to health quicker. We also sent cigarettes to him, though he does not smoke. But cigarettes are like money in prison. He called recently. We told about our news a little, and how Alinevich was thrown into an isolation punishment cell, and how the flat of Frantskevich was sieged by policemen.”

To the question whether he is in good spirits, and how his and health is, Valeriya said: “He feels good. He had not told anything about himself, everything is alright.”

We remind that Mikalai Dzyadok was imprisoned on September 3, 2010, convicted by the court of Zavadski district of Minsk under Article 339 Part 2 of the Criminal Code (malicious hooliganism) and sentenced to 4.5 years of deprivation of liberty in a medium security penal facility.

By a court decision of December 5, 2012 the conditions of serving the sentence were made harsher. He was transferred from the penal colony #17 in Shklou to the prison #4 in Mahilyou. He has more than 20 penalties from the administrations of the colony and prison.
