Lukashenka has dismissed the defence minister of Belarus.
Lukashenka relieved Lieutenant General Yury Zhadobin of his duties as defence minster and transferred him to the retired reserve with the right to wear military uniform and rank insignia. The decree was signed by Lukashenka on November 25, charter97.org learnt from his press service.
Yury Zhadobin was born in Dnepropetrovsk on November 14, 1954.
He graduated from the Higher Armour Command School in Kazan in 1976 and from the command faculty of the Military Armour Forces Academy in 1985. He was appointed deputy minister of internal affairs – commander of Belarus's internal troops in 1999.
He became the head of the PresidentialSecurity Service in September 2003. He was appointed KGB chairman on July 17, 2007, and State Secretary of the Security Council on July 15, 2008.
Yury Zhadobin became the minister of defence of Belarus on December 4, 2009.
