Lukashenka: Russia’s actions cannot but raise concern

The dictator expects clarity from Russia in respect of Belarus.

He said so at the today’s session of the Security Council, BelTA reports.

“The recent actions of our eastern brother cannot but raise concern. However, we are not drawing any conclusions yet, including me, before the meeting with the Russian president,” he noted.

“I want to understand why the Russian Federation would act this way towards Belarus,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka added.

“Of course, we cannot disregard it,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka observed. “We do not dramatize it, I stress that once again. We just want clarity.”

“Once we agreed that the major threats for our country come from the economy. There are no other threats, including on the part of NGOs, some radical opposition and anything else. And they cannot pose any threat at all. The government still lives up to people’s expectations somehow. Although some people here have given up and stopped working, people still tolerate this government.”

Lukashenka emphasized that the economy is a very vulnerable target in any country, in particular an export-oriented country in today’s situation.

We remind that earlier Russia had almost completely banned import of meat from Belarus.

Rosselkhoznadzor says that Belarusian goods do not conform to the norms and requirements of the Russian legislation and the Customs Union.
