A man gave the Belarusian ruler an unpleasant epithet on air.
A viewer made a derogatory remark in Lukashenka's address during a live show “Belorusskoye Vremechko” on Belarus-1 TV on the evening of February 10. The show was running as usual until a phone call from the man who introduced himself as Siarhei.
The man shocked the hosts and viewers with the words: “I'd like to say that Lukashenka is sh*t!”
The connection was cut off immediately. The embarrassed hosts said the man's conduct was unacceptable.
Asked by Salidarnasts about a reaction to the incident from the police, Sviatlana Smalonskaya-Kraskouskaya, a spokeswoman for the Belarusian Television and Radio Company, said:
“Such things are clearly regulated by the criminal legislation. It's not we who should take a decision.”
It's not the first time when viewers have criticised the head of state live on air. In the same show “Belorusskoye Vremechko” in 2008, a man shared his dream: “I want to have a grenade launcher in my hands and the president in front of me.”
