According to human rights activists, a political prisoner Andrej Hajdukou was transferred from a penal colony in Mahilou to the colony Vitba-3 on 6 April.
The term of his imprisonment runs out on 8 May, that is why it is difficult to explain the reasons for such a rushed transfer. Probably, before the release pressure is being strengthened on the political prisoner. Since the investigation and the trial took place in Viciebsk, probably, the local law enforcers wanted to keep Vitba-3 Hajdukou at hand in the colony with a stricter regime.
Andrej Hajdukou had been taken into custody on 8 November 2012, and after an investigation led by KGB officers, was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison on 1 July 2013 under part 1 of the article 14 and article 356-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (attempted contact with foreign secret services, intelligence agency or security institution).
