Political prisoner Lobau works at industrial zone in penal colony

In the penal colony in Ivacevichy Eduard Lobau obtained a welder’s qualification, but there is no work in this field for him in the colony.

Radio Svaboda learnt that from political prisoner’s mother Maryna Lobava.

“Sometimes he goes into industrial zone. He does some works there, helps with something, does the cleaning. He does not work as a welder. There is no such work for him, but it is a common situation there. They study to be a hairdresser there, or a tailor, while they have no job in such fields. This is all for the future, for when at large. It is okay, we will bear. 3.5 months are left for us”, - Maryna Lobava told.

We would remind that together with Young Front’s chairman Dzmitry Dashkievich Eduard Lobau was detained in Minsk on 18 December 2010. The detention of Lobau and Dashkievich was a preventive measure, taken by special services and police before the presidential elections, scheduled on the following day.

On 24 March 2011 the court of Minsk’s Moscow district sentenced Eduard Lobau to 4 years in high security prison under part 3 of the article 339 of the criminal code “especially malicious hooliganism”.
