Mikalai Statkevich tells about his New Year in jail

Political prisoner himself made a Christmas cake.

His wife Maryna Adamovich quotes Mikalai Statkevich's letter on Facebook.

"I was in a good mood in New Year, he writes. - I had some things prepared: hung on a wall Angela's snowflake. There was no spruce branch (in the past years we had one in the cell), the post card I'm writing on has been the symbol of a Christmas tree. I baked the cake from pie shells you sent me last year in February. I used condensed milk as the cream, all the Swiss cacao and a bit of dried fruits. It looked delicious. I'm still eating it and it will be enough until the end of the week. At midnight, I drank tea with cake, for another hour and a half I was trying to find something more or less decent on TV. I was thinking about you".

It should be recalled that after elections in 2010 Mikalai Statkevich was arrested. On May 2011 Partyzanski District Court in Minsk sentenced the politician to six years in a maximum-security prison.
