Hrodna journalist threatened through social networks

Hrodna journalist threatened through social networks

Viktar Sazonau, Hrodna member of Belarusian Association of Journalists, got life-threatening message on Vkontakte.

This was the second message in the past few months, Nasha Niva reports.

- I don't know the reason why I am being threatened. I got a message from a newly registered Siarhei Rasiyanin about a prepared raid on my house. And they are just waiting for the moment. And after a while I received the second message, confirming the first and it told that I had some enemies, they had nothing to lose and they're going to take me somewhere in the trunk of a car. I thanked for such messages and said that I'd file charges, Sazonau said.

- Are you going to inform the police or Prosecutor's Office?

- I have not addressed anywhere yet. I believe into a free speech and gave the information in mass media about these messages. It is clear that they are read by the staff responsible for tracking the opposition sites. When the photograph with Ales Bialiatski or picture, where we stood with the Ukrainian flag appeared, we found very quickly, if not to say as quick as a flash. There are people who watch it. Therefore, it seems to me that they are aware of the information and if needed, they may find out whether it is a joker, or a malicious user, or something more serious. Now I consult with my friends and generally do not know yet what behavior will be more effective.
