Mikalai Autukhovich: No to election, boycott is the only way

The election could and should be used for release of political prisoners.

It was said to charter97.org by a businessman, officer, a former political prisoner Mikalai Autukhovich, who commented the idea to nominate Mikalai Statkevich as an oppositional candidate for presidency, and to boycott the election in case the authorities refuse to release the politician.

“Long ago I said that no election is possible, boycott is the only way out. Today Statkevich is the only one who can unite people. That is why it would be right for the opposition to nominate him,” he said.

Earlier many Belarusian politicians spoke in support of the idea of nominating Mikalai Statkevich as a presidential candidate.
