An average Belarusian spends 70% of his budget on food, and a German - 20%. Why does it happen?
Economist Mikhail Zaleski answered Radio Svaboda, commenting on Aliaksandr Lukashenka's address to the people and "the Parliament".
"An average Belarusian spends 70% of his budget on food, and a German - 20%. What does it happen? Because of low wages and export, Mikhail Zaleski said. - The Germans are world champions in export, and we are outsiders. There is no place for Lukashenka to escape. The state operates in a collective farm mode, and he is its ruler. There is a problem arise: a farm is effective only with the average salary of $130. Then the collective farm "Belarus" will be competitive. But it is clear this money is not enough for living. And it makes him angry as people guzzle and ask for more".
It should be reminded that the dictator complained about insufficiently high food prices.
"It seems like people have eaten their heads off, food prices are too low", Lukashenka said, characterizing the country's economy.
