Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makei will represent Belarus at the summit of Eastern Partnership.

Andrejs Pildegovičs, state secretary for Foreign Affairs of Latvia, informed tut.by.

It should be reminded that Uladzimir Makei also represented Belarus at the summit held in autumn 2013

Pildegovičs say the agreement on visa liberalisation between Belarus and the EU will not be initialed in Riga. Text of the document is planned to be discussed and signed in mid-June - at the end of the Latvian Presidency in the EU.

"We will work on it", Pildegovičs said. Also, according to him, the Summit will not sign a partnership on mobility (this agreement assumes cooperation on labour migration, mobility and combat illegal migration). And it is unknown when it is signed.

Andrejs Pildegovičs also stresses that the issue of political prisoners in Belarus is constantly raised during meetings with representatives of the official Minsk.

Ex-political prisoner Ales Bialiatski, the head of Viasna human rights center, will represent Belarus at the Civil Society Conference.
