Maryna Adamovich: Mikalai Statkevich preparing for prison

Tomorrow Shklou colony will hold the trial of former presidential candidate Mikalai Statkevich, who was accused of "regime violation".

Political prisoner's wife Maryna Adamovich received a call from him as soon as he was informed about the accident she had a few days ago, Radio Svaboda reports.

Mikalai Statkevich has no illusions about the trial, which takes place on Monday.

"Mikalai Statkevich is preparing for prison. In other words, he expects that trial will again worsen the regime of serving the punishment. According to more strict conditions my husband has the right for a short meeting and a parcel only once a year", Maryna Adamovich said.

The trial is planned for 2:30 pm.

Mikalai Statkevich is the only candidate for the Presidency in 2010 who is still imprisoned. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison.
