The documentary Dangerous Acts Starring the Unstable Elements of Belarus directed by Madeleine Sackler received the Emmy Award for Outstanding Arts & Culture Programming.

The film tells about the resistance to the regime in Belarus “both on the stage and in the streets”. The documentary is based on the dispersal of the post-elections protests against the 2010 rigged elections and the story of the Belarus Free Theatre that had to flee to London due to repression.

The Emmy Award for news and documentary programming is given by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. It corresponds to the Academy Award (for film), the Grammy Award (for music) and the Tony Award (for theatre).
