Shunevich: We Continue To Gun For Dankvert

The Interior Minister of Belarus has stated that the department is in the stage of gathering information.

The Interior Ministry of Belarus continues to carry out pre-investigation checks on "Dankvert’s case," Interior Minister Ihar Shunevich states.

"Currently, the Interior Ministry has registered some materials, pre-investigation checks are being carried out," – Shunevich said on Tuesday, noting that the department was collecting information at that moment.

"I would not talk about the results thus far, the check is well under way," – the minister added.

In early February, Lukashenka got outraged over the ban on import of many republic enterprises’ products to Russia and ordered to institute criminal proceedings against Rosselkhoznadzor head Sergey Dankvert "for causing damage to the state." After that, the Interior Ministry started the check.

Dankvert said that it was pressure on him and the department in general. Rosselkhoznadzor’s claims to the Belarusian products emerged exclusively due to violations of the Russian requirements and technical regulations, the Rosselkhoznadzor head repeatedly stressed.

On February 15, Dankvert informed that the RF prosecutor's office had passed over to Rosselkhoznadzor the issues, raised by the Belarusian prosecutor's office in connection with the Ministry of Internal Affairs checks.

"Our prosecutor's office sent us an official appeal with the questions, asked by the Belarusian prosecutor's office, we are making ready the answers to them, this is to be expected," – Dankvert told reporters.
