Beaten By Riot Policeman, Lahvinets Sentenced To 10 Days Arrest

Minsk court has found him guilty of petty hooliganism.

The court of Maskouski district of Minsk has found a political scientist, an opposition activist Ales Lahvinets guilty of petty hooliganism. Allegedly he had used foul speech, nn.by writes.

The verdict is 10 days of arrest.

Lahvinets was detained on March 23 in the yard of his house. He was brutally beaten up, and he was taken to a hospital. During the trial riot policemen said that Lahvinets himself banged his head against seats in the car.
