Hero of protests in Pinsk raises $ 500 of people's aid

Mikalai Krychko, a disabled "non-parasite" from Pinsk, hasn't enough money for a good prosthesis.

Pinsk dweller Mikalai Krychko participated in the "march of non-parasites" on crutches on May 11. One of his legs is missing; he walks on crutches, as he has no money for a quality imported prosthesis. Despite this, the retired man came to the square to express his disagreement with the situation in the country.

This act impressed the human rights defender Leanid Sudalenka from Homel, who called on Belarusians to help the disabled man to purchase a prosthesis.

About 50 persons have responded to the appeal so far, Radio Svaboda reports.

Mikalai Krychko says that a few days ago he visited the bank, where they informed him that a little over a thousand rubles came to his account:

"What can I say, there is not enough money. A high-quality imported prosthesis costs 6140 rubles and 20 kopecks. So far, the amount collected is far from sufficient. But now it's summer, I can spend less on my utility bills. Therefore, I make savings myself. I think I will collect the necessary amount over some time." Mikalai Krychko thanks everyone who transferred the money to his account.
